Alicia and Dino Riggio

July 3, 2011 - Camarillo, CA

I first met Alicia and Dino on a trip to Ventura in August of 2010.  I was attending a bridal show and arranged a meeting with them afterwards at a Starbucks near the old drive-in movie theater.  I first noticed the tattoos on both of them and then started thinking of all the cool photos we could shoot if they chose me for their wedding day.  I love those edgy photos where you have classic elegance mixed with tattoos.  Within 30 minutes they decided to have me as their photographer for their special day on July 3, 2011.

Fast forward to November 2010 when my wife and I learned we were expecting our first child and the due date was July 13, 2011.  In my mind, 10 days was no problem.  I'd be able to fly into Burbank from Las Vegas, drive into Camarillo and shoot the wedding, and then come home the next morning in the event my wife went into labor early.  As the days got closer I started to get nervous and I wanted to have a backup plan in case I needed to stay home.  I called my good friend and very reliable photographer, Donna Spittle.  She and her husband Steve, whom I went to high school with, had just moved back to Ventura from Nashville and she was available and ready to help out.

Donna and I shot their engagement photos at the pier in Ventura on Easter Sunday and they were a delight to work with.

They got married at Spanish Hills Country Club and it was a perfect day.
